this manga has a trans woman character but unfortunately she's just a fucking stereotype
and also the main character, aka seme is very transphobic and he constantly keeps misgendering her.I think these types of mangakas are really ignorant about the trans issues. They don't give a flying fuck about anything. They cannot understand how awful they are.even if they're not malevolent, the situation is still not good.Shame on the mangaka!

    tbh tho that reply ^^^
Everyone reading yaoi should be very aware of the misrepresentation. If you're not, and you think you're the only understanding the problem, you're wrong and you should stop reading yaoi. I'm not saying this to be rude I'm saying this because most yaoi will offend you like this. You talked about the misrepresentation of trans women but what about the feminization of gay bottoms? Or the romanticization of rape? People who read yaoi should be aware of what they are reading. If you are looking for politically correct yaoi, you won't find it.

    1. A trans woman running a gay bar is one of the most common things to happen in yaoi. They are all depicted in the same way this one was. It's really nothing new. If you want a better depicted trans, find a manga that does so. Don't attack authors.

    2. There is no reason for you to call the mangaka ignorant. Just because they wrote Zen's character that way, doesn't mean that's how they feel. It's supposed to further describe the kind of person Zen is, not who the author is.

    3. As they ^ have said, you won't find yaoi that's "politically correct", nor will you find a manga that portrays everything you want it to in the way you want it to. If everything was perfect in manga, it would be boring.

    4. As someone who is part of the LGBTQ community I actually get bothered by people constantly bringing up "LGBTQ issues". If we wanted to be treated "normal" like any other person, why are we still calling everything out. You're basically pointing it out like we deserve privileges or something. That's how I feel anyway. That's not exactly what you're doing here but there's no point in getting upset over the portrayal of a character in a manga.

    5. I honestly don't believe that single side character is going to have a massive affect on anyone who is trans. Especially if they've read yaoi for a long time. Since, like I said, it's nothing new. It's a yaoi cliche.

Also, you said that Zen misgendering her meant that the mangaka was ignorant about trans issues.

Um. The mangaka is basically pointing out that assholes who misgender trans is a "trans issue"...
