I think that he wanted his farewell to be harsh so that it would be easier for Soha to move on.

While everyone is sad over the last scene, I'm still curious why Hwee Un said, as he was shot by arrows in battle, that he will never forgive Soha... I always think, did Soha betray him in the end? Or because Soha became too much of a distraction?
And knowing now that Hwee Un didn't win the war in his past life, what has happened to his sister and her baby? Why hasn't he looked for his family once he arrived in the new world?
Also, I feel super bad for Soha's proposal rejection
