Well, if she was smart and knew how to do business THEN yes it would follow your lead of the story, but she is horrible at lying and acting, as you could already tell, she is also a bit too pure and kind for that stuff, but I take it that for these reasons are why the duke is slowly falling in love with her. But if she was to lie to the prince, her lie would already be detected and she'd have a even more horrible experience, I mean the prince is sooo fucking two-faced, HE IS A FUCKING SNAKE, sooo she wouldn't even be able to go against him.
She should say yes,take the money, tell the Duke and then feed the prince false info. It makes no sense to betray the Duke, what’s she gonna do anyway. She’s in a strange land where people will enslave her for her hair color.
