Remi is such a useless idiot!! If she would pretending to be a cripple then suddenly rise as a higher-tier just when things got difficult to handle... then: 1. Cripples will commit suicide because the higher ranks would think its just a higher rank PRETENDING to be a CRIPPLE. 2. The so called balance of higher tiers and lower ranks would distrust one another.
John pretending to be cripple because he felt immature and he felt he didn't deserve his true rank. He wanted to be liked for his personality NOT his power.
