I adore Never Understand but I completely agree with you. I truly hope the author does something to subvert what I expect to be a very standard redemption plot. It's become standard that authors do this, first it's the easiest way to continue a plot with an already established following, secondly it's pure laziness. I'm tired of toxic behavior being rewarded constantly in BL because authors cannot be fussed about creating properly fleshed out realistic characters who face consequences, and because this toxicity is encouraged by readers who'd rather every story they read now a days include some dirtbag falling in love with often times their victim. The whole thing is fucking psychotic and I will never understand....

Uhh no he doesn’t deserve to end up with someone. He literally raped jaerim in the other series and just because in the end he helped them doesn’t give him any redemption. He better get what he deserves in this series before he gets any happiness.
