The master is definitely attracted to the paintings but he's also subconsciously attracted to the painter as well. When he got excited about the painting in chapter 3 he not only thought of the painting but the painter as well. Also he wants the painter in the room so he can stare at him. Like if you want him there just so he can paint, you wouldn't even look at his direction or pay attention to him. You can't fool me you hot psycho.
