"girl characters in yaoi’s and shounen ai’s were always annoying" I feel like they are deliberately written to be that way though, antagonistic, jealous, petty so we don't feel anything for them. they are just there to play as a source of conflict to bring the main ship closer. I hate the way the opposite sex is portrayed in gay/yuri manga.
Honestly, most of the love rivals (it sometimes doesn't even have anything to do with the gender) in yaoi/yuri mangas are more of a plot device than an actual character. It's good to see them have actual personalities and thoughts, once in a while
Honestly, usually some of the girl character in yaoi’s and shounen ai’s were always annoying and/or extra. But now, story 5,7,8 actually made my feel bad. The girls are always never happy in the end because there’s a heartbreak happening while the author ends the story with a “happy” ending. Damn. Harada is right man. ╥﹏╥
