Saaaaaaammme! Other people: ooooo, he has a tragic past!!!!!! Let's all come together and forgive his previous sh!tty behaviors! We can't accuse a person with a tragic past of any crime (even though we are allowed to accuse their victims with similarly tragic pasts of much worse). Wooooo!!!! The three of us: that's no excuse to treat others like sh!t, since they may have also had sh!tty lives and still somehow managed to be decent people.
