i think when the girl cries for someone she doesn't even know, feels sympathy for them, it just means she is full of love and has very pure heart (or hearts ╮(￣▽￣)╭)
the guy is given that love but eventually loses it... i'm not sure about the reason, maybe because he expects love from others and not search for love himself or give love to others as well?
Well I just take it as love being used up normally, just like how passion for a thing eventually wanes as time pass by, or something. Shrugs.
From how i get it the 'hearts' are from the tears of the girl, so by making her cry from the heartache of someone dying after receiving her heart, the vicious cycle continues...
