Oh it happens though. It's sad but it happens often. A good example would be from skill isekai. Same premise, middle aged man gets iskekai'd with a bunch HS students but they got all the hero skills but he only has a skill for cooking and stuff. Story focuses on him but the chosen heroes of that world doesn't appear at all after chapter 1(though they get a special chapter in the novel)
