I don’t really know if Wenxu helped but he was happy because it was good for the business and because at that time he considered Doctor Ai like his rival. Now, Doctor Ai failed to have the bone marrow and asks for Wenxu to use his full power to find the same bone marrow. It’s the condition to send him Zishu for the treatment. Wenxu realized that he was wrong about everything and made the things worse.
He just found out that the bone marrow he snatched away with his money to make a connection with a powerfull politician was in fact meant for his lover, the main character. So he basically condamned to death the one person he swore to protect a long time ago and he is (according to himself) very much in love with. Even more aggravating is the fact that when he came home very happy about his deed he saw the main character feeling down. Instead of asking what was wrong with him or try to cheer him up he insulted him and accused him of cheating or something like that.
