I guess they are really noisy. Or he don't like Korean because of a bad expereince...

I think he's not comfortable with them. He's korean but it doesnt look like he spent much time in korea. My assumption is he avoids them because even if he is Korean, he doesnt share the same culture/values as them and that makes him uncomfortable. Knowing that you're not as korean as you should be (or from whatever ethnicity you came from) can be pretty frustrating so sometimes its just best to avoid it altogether.
