He isn't homophobic or anything, he just doesn't want his brother getting hurt and having a hard life. It doesn't mean what he does / did is right, but it's understandable
I think this accident is rather something to make the older brother realise that his little brother has grown up and no longer needs his protection

It is wrong .-. By saying "heterosexuality means homophobia", they're generalizing every heterosexual to be a homophobe. And that's not true ._. We have our preferences and they have theirs, neither sides are wrong. Sure, the majority of heterosexuals are homophobic but not all. I'm personally not a homophobe, at least I would like to think that I'm not :/ Them saying that is basically equivalent to saying "all white people are racists" when it was only a selective amount that were, not all. So I struggle to understand why they seem to have a hate for heterosexuals, like they got heterophobia or something.

I don't appreciate you generalizing every heterosexual as a homophobe. I don't know what type of heterosexuals you have met, but not all are homophobic. You saying that we are horrific is just like what a homophobe would say about a homosexual. It's not nice. Sure homophobes have done a lot of damage towards homosexuals but you're basically just doing the same by spreading your heterophobic beliefs. You're no different to a homophobe by spouting that type of shit
Just when you think he's a caring older brother, turns out he is just another hetero, and the author creates a tragedy to make us feel sorry for him.
