So~ what I think is happening is that MC's grandfather has the art to seal the great Devil of destruction -that's bullying the weak- into the illusory land by creating some sort of barrier through the 12 hairpins he created.
But MC somehow broke that barrier because of the bananas it created a rift on the spell. So the Devil could escape using MC's body as the vessel.
So MC need those 12 hairpins to recreate the barrier to keep the Devil trapped in illusory land forever.
It won't be an easy task because the 12 hairpins was created by stealing someone's fate (kinda like the principle of Equivalent Exchange. One must exchange with equal value to obtain something. So this art is actually sort of a forbidden spell, but it was meant to save the world)
Anyway the 12 hairpins has now been linked by a new owner's fate. So giving the hairpin back to MC also means they're giving their fate to him. (He can control their fate) However if those owners won't give up their fate to him, the Devil would take over and will control their fate against their will instead. Creating Caos.
So MC's task is to convince them to willingly give him the hairpin and trust their fate into his hands. So a new barrier can be created.
