Feel sorry for ex guy

i disagree - Jiang Wenxu was his boss. They were together in Paris. He was there whenever He Zishu called. And everytime those calls came, he was told to keep quiet. He saw the ring on his boss' finger - he knew there was someone before him that meant more to Jiang Wenxu. That's why he never returned the ring that he took from JW will he was asleep. That's why he never planned to return it - he felt he was the only one who deserved to be with JW.

It takes two to tango. I feel sorry for him for dying young in that accident... but Chen Zui was not a victim. He chose to have an affair with his boss, hoping he would eventually be the only one - that only he deserved JW. He pushed his luck when he felt JW was losing interest in him. So he went to Zishu in hopes to sow discord in their relationship - in hopes that JW would get back together with him.

I agree with you but in the novel it says Jiang hit him a lot, even on the Paris trip. And Jiang would put him through violent sex he didn't like

I respect your opinion on this. However, Jiang knew Zishu didn't like pain, that's what he looked for in his "extracurricular partners" - that they could have rough sex. Chen could have left early on, He wasn't as heavily invested as Zishu was. Zishu wasn't young anymore, and comparing the years both he and JW had spent together - Chen could always start over. Chen surely knew his boss' reputation - he had a choice to leave and could start over again. He chose to stay in hopes to keep JW. He was proud and selfish - similar to JW. He also claimed he was better than Zishu. Like I said, I feel sorry for him - but in my opinion he was still an ass.
