You can be feminine and still be a good character. Feminine traits are not lower than masculine traits. You can be woke without the cringe. Canaria waited for an opportunity and she took it when she knew full well that things are looking out for her. Just like Danerys from Game of thrones, who didnt reveal her cards and schemed with the target in mind. Canaria didnt know if the story would change. Imagine if she pursued Caesar and gets rejected because of the story? if everything else in the story was happening; the emperor plotting to kill her, the people telling her to step down; what makes you think Canaria wont be careful with standing out? Her original plan was to quietly retreat into the background and escape death because she was sure that the story would not be changeable. But once Daesar confessed, she quickly got to work. Imagine if she is discovered to be the Prince's aid, the empress would have had her throat since the empress still influence a large deal of the palace. If her letter to the 2nd prince gets easily hijacked and she gets framed, what makes you think she is safe from revealing her true intentions? Her key was caesar's confession and she was a strong feminine woman that always weighsthe pros and cons and strikes while the iron is hot. She knows there's a time for everything.
