Yeah, I totally get you, that’s a clichè, but usually I don’t really care, but this time is too out of nowhere, there wasn’t even a hint that they already knew each other. Also it’s necessary for them to already knew each other? Doesn’t Yu Yang have already understood by himself that he was wrong? Does he really need to know that once Lihuan has been nice with him to understand that they really love each other?

Yeah. The fact that they met in childhood is getting too close to "destined to be together since childhood" and it feels like apology fanservice after focusing on other characters for so long. So many stories follow that formula, and while I am a sucker for childhood friends developing into something more, I like this story precisely because it WASN'T that.
YuYang started this story looking backwards at a failed one sided crush, and his growth arc seemed to be him realizing he could find love with someone if he turned his eyes forward with hope again and put himself out there. This sudden turn of having met LiHuan in the past makes it seem like YuYang hasn't learned to appreciate LiHuan for who he currently is and he does, he's merely having warm feelings over a hazy memory and retreating to familiar territory for comfort again. If LiHuan is also acting on subconscious memories of a past meeting with YuYang, it makes his current feelings more complicated as well.
I don't like this turn of events.
I mean... CUTE that there's gonna be smth about them knowing eachother in the past, but is it really neccesary? I always though this comic is supe rbecause Lihuan just kind of appears out of nowhere in YuYang's life and its amazing. because it always A CHILDHOOD FIREND, or THIS ONE KID I KNEW AND COMPLETLY FORGOT HE EXISTED or A NEIGHBOUR idk how i feel about it.
Also I don't remeber was there smth about it earlier cause I don't remmeber ;//
