I think it’s cuter if he at the time was lying and had always liked him. :’) He never says he changed his mind or it’s now a lie just that it was a lie. It’s way cuter if he always liked him.
you can interpret it any way you want. to me, this doesn’t make it less cuter. plus logically, he tian really didn’t like or get along with mo from the beginning at first sight or anything. they have the enemies to lovers trope so it’s natural neither would like each other from the get go at first.
if anything, I find this more logical and personally cuter cause we can literally see the progression of he tian falling in love with mo after he said that.

after mo told he tian, he was starting to hate him more and more. he tian, at that point in time since he hadn’t fallen for our cute tsundere quite yet, responded and said he didn’t want mo to like him more and more.
but of course I completely understand why some may be confused by this chapter and the note bc that chapter was put out ages ago and not everyone will remember it for context.
so this chapter (307) is supposed to show that at some point after saying this (in chapter 160), during the period when he tian kissed him but before his first fight with she li, he tian grew feelings for mo and wanted to take his words back bc they were no longer true anymore. those words were now a lie.
essentially he tian is saying that now he wants mo to like him more and more. he is retracting his statement. this progress is so cute!!!
