Because he is hetero he loved her based on her gender other qualities like cute beautiful etc... came along with her gender
There's rarely love beyond gender except for pansexual maybe bisexual too
Even someone gay or lesb wouldn't be able to accept if 1 day their significant other changed to the opposite gender maybe they can still love but there wont be sexual attraction
Does this guy has to somehow accept both of his girlfriend sides? Like no matter what type of person she becomes he'll always love her (or in this case "him"). Whether man or woman he'll eventually learn how to accept her/him entirely?
