Money might not be great but it's stable. If it really IS for his kid he wouldn't being getting drunk and doing all this shit. That's utherly ridicdulous to use as a defense. The author clearly is trying to show you how distructive Ryan is, and how his behavior should not be excusable. Yet, here's another clear example of people like you doing it.

I see people are defending/trying to understand Ryan... No one's forcing him to do porn, and no one is forcing him to go to a company that is shady. He deliberately chose to do it to jab at what Mcqueen does. But Mcqueen's company doesn't force their "artist" like that. I have nothing to say in regards to Ed being okay with Mcqueen still acting in porn. I know this story will end with Ed regretting all this (the foreshadowing is all there, this whole thing is a flashback). There love may or may not go anywhere. I hope it ends bittersweet in which they stay friends, Mcqueen ends up a pretty famous actor and Ed is in a loving relationship with an ordinary person.
