I remember having to write poems from the age of 8-9 and since then, I’ve had to write lots of poems, even this really weird one where you can’t use more than 1 type of vowel. Of course, we analyzed a ton too in order to write in the style of certain poets.
I guess in North America, they like making you read, write, and analyze poems.
