Everyone dies. Including the little sister, mother and shitty rapist father (only death I was happy for lol). The main couple is only reunited in their deaths, the afterlife I think?. Giju killed himself because he couldn’t handle his little sister’s death and Youngdo was killed in relation to his old work.

If I remember correctly, it’s been a while since I read it but the little sister was killed by the kidnapper and delivered in a box. The brother is in denial about it as he’s in the middle of dying/committing suicide so he keeps saying it’s a “little bird” but they definitely show her hand with her little finger nail painted peaking out the box and eventually an image of her curled up in it. They don’t show how she exactly she does but it’s sad.

Omg that's so heart-wrenching! Well...what better ending than having only one person dead.

You're right. Since this is categorised as bara, it is meant to contrast from the typical yaoi/BL. So maybe that's where it differs?

Bara is usually bears or big muscular men and is usually written by actual gay men or for gay men whereas Yaoi caters to women (typically pretty boys and has different tropes sometimes), so in this context....I’m not sure. It comes off as very typical Yaoi with lots of rape, murder, abuse, and tragedy to me

Well, Lee Uin is a gay male webtoonist so I was sorta thinking along the lines that he made the ending the way it is to cater to the gay male audience as opposed to the female audience. But we won't know until he clarifies the ending himself and I hope he does cause it dont make no sense.

Really? How do you think a female audience ending would be like?

There is plenty of tragedy/rape/sad/psycho material in BL and Regular manga directed to female audience who dont like standard basic happy ending. I didnt really know there would be a typical female audience ending type to cater to though.

The way he has ended really is not that much of a tragedy. It was kind on his part to kill everyone. I have read gore ones(marketed to the gay males) that would really mess up a typical female mind. All those genres you've mentioned would probably be a lot more gruesome and probably depict more violence if it was meant for gay male audience BUT I wouldn't know for sure. So it's best you get professional opinions from the female/male mangakas on how they would write up stories/create endings with the female audience in mind and how they would do it differently for the gay male audience. Since Lee draws bara and looks up to Gengoroh Tagame's works(go check it out but I am warning you it may not be to your liking), I was deducing that when he drew inspiration to write Saha at that moment of time, he may have thought to only cater to the gay male audience therefore influencing the ending. How he would do it differently for a female audience? I have absolutely no clue.

I understand Im So glad you gave authors name gonna google it today, I dont think it should be done diff though some of us like non generic stuff, just get tired of same ole stories with different faces n same trope. (BL and hetro).....the darker stuff was read in my teens and will always have love for it. Gonna take a break and watch anime lol. Thanks for such an insightful response and for the info/author name.
