Probably because it didn't romanticize rape and included the trauma that rape victims develop. It was refreshing to see but the development coulda last longer.

I hate reading manga whenever it has rape like this so as soon as i see a hint of it I click off. But~~~~ This was different. For some reason i stayed. I hated every bit of the rape and I really wish Shuu had killed that sick bastard. But I loved that even though Maki and Shuu still ended up having sex Shuu held back knowing it'd be too much
