I don't think your's an unpopular opinion.
Hmm, yeah. I don't think my main idea was an unpopular opinion; however, I think many people seemed angry at Ren instead and I felt that the one who was truly in the wrong was the cousin. From what I seemed to understand from comments previous to mine, many people weren't too happy about Ren and seemed to sympathize with the cousin's intent. That's why I felt I needed to preface my post, to prepare for the worst. (〜￣△￣)〜
I understand, I asked a question under a manhwa I'm reading and probably explained myself bad, lol.
I too think the cousin is mainly at fault, even if he had good intentions he had no right to touch Kaede while he clearly wasn't in his right mind, and a few times too without fail. We don't even know if he HAS good intentions or has some sort of personal purpose that made him think acting this was was better than speaking to Ren directly.
Ren is at fault, of course, with his reasons we now know. Surely leaving his fiancé vulnerable isn't right either, he could just ask some woman to stand guard on him or just stay off the room for a while, to ensure no one comes. I appreciate not wanting to hurt him, and starting to acknowledge that Kaede's a victim, but he still could have handled this matter better if he just asked his family for counseling. I hope to see him open to his family in the future.
Okay, I'm a bit mad at both wolves. As for Ren, he did not begin the relationship on a great start with not telling Kaede what was in the drink and not asking for consent. But I like him a lot more than dbag cousin!
Dude, you DO NOT have the authority even if you are trying to help to put yourself in the situation of physically and sexually touching Kaede while he is drunk, under aphrodisiac, and is vulnerable. And from the conversation,
it looks like he did it frequently, or at least a few times (once is bad enough). You know what you could have done? You could've gone to Ren and said, "hey, I think you should help Kaede to release afterwards because he is in pain". BUT NOOOOOOO. YOU HAD TO MAKE A STUPID DECISION AND SQUEEZE YOURSELF IN THAT SITUATION AND RELATIONSHIP. DID YOU NOT THINK ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF TOUCHING SOMEONE ELSE'S (ESPECIALLY AS REN IS A KEY PERSON IN THE TRIBE) BRIDE?! I am sufficiently disgusted at the cousin to make such an uninformed decision. Not only was he disrespectful to Ren, he committed sexual assault onto Kaede, and I think he might've committed something similar to treason as Ren is an important person in the tribe. I don't care if the intent was good, the acts were bad and I hate it that the ending of this chapter made him seem like a victim.
I'm sorry but this chapter had such good communication between Ren and Kaede. For once, there was good communication, especially on topics that might've felt embarrassing. Then here comes this freaking idiot who could have solved the issue by simply talking to Ren. He BETTER face some consequences.
