Personally, I wouldn't want someone who's still a teen with someone whose in their mid thirties or older. They're in completely different stages of life

There is a reason I say that. The brain doesn't change drastically from 17 to 19 and you still think like a teenager. Most relationships have an unequal balance of power when the parties involved have a drastic difference in age. 19 year olds are still easily manipulated and can be taken advantage of. Of course we can say this is a story but why portray it as "good" when in the real world it's a harmful thing. There is nothing wrong with Chase liking Joel but there is something wrong with Joel liking Chase. Why would a 30 year old want a teen? What motives do they have? It would be like me at 16 liking a 12 year old.
Yeah, I would be okay with it if Chase was well into college or even past college. That way it will be on more equal ground.
I see a lot of myself in chase, since I was in a relationship with someone 10 years older than me when I was 20, my feelings didn’t change 3 years later but I can DEFINITELY see why it’s important to wait until 21/23 I am 100% different from the way I used to be, definitely matured and gladly with no regrets
