From what I understood the authors were planning to have him die like that but as soon as it released the unending screams it caused them to change the ending a bit.
I can just imagine the flood of messages saying "How dare you!". I'm happy Rai lived but part of me is sad for the authors who were pressured to change the ending they had planned on for years.

If I remember correctly (and I might be wrong) the ending was always planned that way, but because the last season was so rushed and the dozens of plot lines that had no resolution the screaming just didn't stop. I know for myself, I would've been okay with the ending as it was, but the loose ends bugged the crap out of me. The creators did an amazing job of creating multifaceted characters and putting them in this fascinating world. The plot had me excited to read what happened next. But sadly, only one character got any resolution, and it left a bitter taste.
As much as I loved reading this story, the lack of resolution totally prevents me from rereading it. I don't want to be disappointed twice. ╥﹏╥
In case ppl are confused about Raizel coming back.....children, he's NAMED as Noblesse, he's more like a demi-god, y'all really think that he's gonna die like that?
