It seems most people don't like the main lead, but he's the only character I like. He's entirely right. With that first village, in the time it took him to save the stupid princess, he could have already been in the capital, defeating the orcs, then the guard would have never been captured. And when the princess's guard got taken and she went after her, even more people died to get her back. So what if he's brash? He's being logical. They're in a war, and obviously the princess's naive opinions are the reason the holy maidens and heroes have continuously lost before.
