SO I get why everyone is hating on the mom, but I dont think shes a huge homophobe?? Cuz like in the car she wasn't mad, I think it was more like omg how come? To her its a huge surprise (Pls correct me if I'm wrong, I might be forgetting something).
She still loves her son, but she always envisioned her son getting married to a woman and having children for like 30 years. And all of a sudden she's dumped with a major shock. Do you guys really expect her to suddenly be ok? I'm not saying that being gay is wrong, but for her I think it's a process trying to change 30 years of thinking. ALSO different generations!! Something to keep in mind.
BUT I guess we will see her true intentions in the next couple of chapters.
If you're interested, there's a show call One Day At A Time and the mother found out her daughter was LGBTQ and she still loves her daughter of course, but it was a process and she was trying which is huge in my eyes.
