I mean I get that she thinks she's doing the mature thing or whatever but she does know that she's just living in a novel right? Like she had an actual life before this and now she's basically a fictional character? And it's not like being a maid is all that glamorous, then add in the fact that she's living in literal ancient times and she'll be lucky if she lives to her thirties.
If I had to choose between being married to some rich dude who loved me and living the rest of my life as a poor servant, lol I'd obviously choose the first one.
