I know my late, but I’m pretty sure the rape scene was to victimize the MC more, and to show the consequences of the bullying. And also put him in a bad situation like the MC from the main story.
Like, the rape scene was COMPLETELY unnecessary
I was really uncomfortable (obviously)
So yeah, the protagonist is kinda annoying but he grew a lot as a person ... this is very important
The whole story would sucks if he didn't apologize PROPERLY like he did
I think he suffered enough for an forgiven but bullying is not right and the manga actually shows it
