He knows Mani's name because he knew her before. Probably a relative or his own child (?) He was once a beastkin (wolfkin) but his own spell got distorted and he made himself believe he was a hunter. He probably got some experiments done to him that he got that red hair (and is the coming of winter) The reason he wears that wolf skin is that it was someone very close to him before. (I have a feeling that the wolf skin is actually Mani's mother) i think Mani's mother was trying to stop him from become winter and when he killed her he came to his senses. His lingering hate towards human might be related to the person in the red coat. Something tells me that he had once admired humans when he was a wolfkin and something happened that caused him immense hate towards humans.
