Yes, this story is highly saturated with cinnamon rolls. And I don't disagree that the FL's background is a bit dull in comparison to Elise. However, what I like about her are the ways of interpreting her actions.
On one hand, she is a bit of a ditz who wants to live comfortably like a slow life.
But on the other, once she settles on something she wants to do she has a smart mind to help her achieve it. (ex. meeting the saint & getting the Duke to fall in love with her)
In more recent chapters it has felt like she is doing the same thing as the antagonist- but better. She's basically emotionally manipulating the ML to get what she wants (his love, affection and protection) but she will reciprocate by giving her heart to him so it's ok(ish).
She's not as greedy or ambitious as any of the antagonists, but she can be pretty unscrupulous about getting what she wants. She's got some layers that I appreciate in a female lead (I really hate when they are nothing but a dishrag tossed about by the male characters).
Tbh, all the way along the antagonists have seemed kinda lame. But that's because this story isn't so much about good and evil as it is about people trying to get what want and need. People with nothing who have to go to extreme lengths to get anything, and people who seem like they have it all that can't be happy with what they have.

I wish they did something with her background. If she came from the same world as Susan, that right there can be used to add interest to the story. What about Susan's pass career? Can she nor use her talents to seem more interesting?it's very one note and straight foward. Thats the problem here.
I agree. The characters really don't stand out for me and each time I read this manhwa, I expect Adele to use her knowledge and skills to hit the market, since she was a fashion designer in her previous life. And +1 for Jajamadam's comment.
I don't know why. Perhaps, it's because the antagonist doesn't deserve the title of being an "anatgonist" or because Adele is nothing but a woman who keeps Susan away from the guy...
This story is quite boring. All the characters are so single handedly focused on someone who is not even worth focusing on. Adele's past is boring. She is boring in the story because she has nothing else about her other than to root for her with Felix and Felix does nothing but be a cinnamon roll.
Everyone's a cinnamon roll and that gets biting after a while. Compared to let's say, Doctor Elise, where there's so many different plot lines and Elise and the Prince has so many things to do, this webtoon lacks in an interesting characters.
