I personally don't think this narrative is "realistic". Also, Jensen is not straight. Jensen says he's pansexual. I would also like to point out that many gay people fear commitment with men that want to do stuff on the DL (down low its gay slang). That's not Jensen. He acts nothing like Neils ex nor like someone on the DL or confused.
Jensen confessed and made his feeling clear a few times. Yes, Niel has a reason to feel insecure, about the men he likes being straight, but Niel has not given Jensen a chance to fully express himself. Most gay people that are mature would communicate their fear have a convo to make sure they actually like men. The real issue is Niel's lack of maturity and horrible communication skills. He keeps running away and blaming Jensen to fulfill his own self prophecy of "Jensen being a straight guy who's using him.
I'm not saying Niels's feelings are not valid, but his actions affect Jensen as well. Rn, he's making assumptions about Jensen and actively thinking about his own feeling and ignoring Jensens without reason.
Also, its messed up that Niel assumed what Jensen likes sexually. A lot of gays tend to do this, but you can't just ignore the fact that people can be bisexual (or pansexual in this case.). I could understand if he's known him for years, but he just met him.
People have a reason to be kinda pissed at Niel he's completely disregarding Jesnens feelings for without communicating why. If it were the other way around it would be fucked up so why is it ok for him to do it to him.
This is just my opinion as someone a part of the lgbtq+ community. I do agree that many yaoi, yuri, and BL's (actually just romance/smut mangas in general) have annoying storylines that are not realistic at all. I usually read them for fun or...o-other reasons, but yeah just my thoughts.

It's been barely 5-6 chapters since Jensen confessed....people need to relax about "Niel jumping to conclusions" or him ignoring Jensen. Like let the guy sort his feelings out for Christ's sake! The homosexual life ain't always easy.
Jensen is a straight guy and Niel is obviously going to freak out and be nervous about his straight crush who just confessed to him. Atleast he's sorting out whatever happened with Eugene and processing whatever happened with Jensen. This isn't just another fast paced unrealistic bl (thankfully), where they just kiss and make up with no plot. I know everyone is anxious to see them together but we know it's gonna happen. Besides more drama, more chapters for us.
