I Don't think Niel has given up on Jensen. The chapter 43 was up for a short time earlier before it suddenly went away for unknown reasons, but in chapter 43 during the conversation with Eugene, Niel states that he's reflected on his current situation with the "someone he loves" now [Jensen] that he wants to remedy the bad situation to make things work. When the chapter comes back up hopefully, take a close look within their dialogue bubbles because Niel actually mentions about it.

my reply was for chapter 42 and haven’t seen the chap 43 so I don’t have the idea on what’s gonna happen after Eugene showed up. I’m still hoping for Niel to stop overthinking and give Jensen some time to work things out.

No problem, therefore I was letting you know of what had occurred in chapter 43 to provide reassurance that things were Not going to turn for the worst and Niel was Not going to "give up on Jensen that easily". (=・ω・=) Good things are sure to come; no worries. (▰˘◡˘▰)
