Yeah tongue equals way pass the dumb cliche trope of what mangaka think of foreigners (I’m sure people in japan know that we in the US and other foreign countries don’t kiss friends with tongue!!) and mostly kissing is done on the cheeks or side like French rarely lips for most cultures!!
