It depends on your regional colloquial terminology. Another name for flashdrive, and a catch all term for devices that can be used in a USB port, is USB device. Where I'm from people would say USB as a shortened version of USB device in a casual setting, while making sure to say USB device or specify which device in a more formal setting.
They call it both ways here so...
