Well its more like he really doesn't take his son into account. He has his moments but at the end of the day its about him. I get being a dad is hard but he didn't try to be a parent for the longest which is why jesse is the way he is. Now he is trying and he expects to be a happy family with chase without anyone getting in the way. Sk in the end he still doesn't take jesse as a priority.

Hes a father and he is not good at showing feeling
He feel anxious because he was a father and his lover is younger as his son
