Are we reading the same manga?

Ok so I’m confused why a lot of people hate the uke for his treatment of Nagi. Nagi isn’t some pet that kyouji adopted where suddenly all his wants and needs r his responsibility. They’ve known each other for a week or 2 at most and in all intensive purposes, Nagi looks like a college aged male who should have learned the bare minimum to survive in an urban setting. Nagi is suspicious as hell tbh and the fact that The uke trusts him this much to leave him in the house alone and give him free rein is honestly a miracle in itself. Imagine waking up to a random guy in your house who doesn’t speak the language so u can’t talk creating the possibility of a scam, he doesn’t know what a shower or a fridge is which is suspicious as hell, first time u leave him alone he breaks ur TV, and then u catch him trying to pay someone with leaves. Most people would have taken Nagi to the police by now and the fact that Kyouji, a probably not super rich COLLEGE student, is letting him stay and do nothing imo is about as nice as u can get with that level of trust. Yes I want their relationship to improve but he’s not a bad person for yelling at someone for invading his bedroom continuously despite his want for privacy and the breaking of his home appliances that are very common use to people in an urban environment like Tokyo (or wherever they are).

I totally agree with you. People only see "oh, he yelled at him again, what an asshole", and refuse to look at the whole situation. Besides all what you mentioned, it's obvious that MC has his own mental issues on top of the honestly scary situation he found himself in. I would have kicked out Nagisa the moment I saw him, and if he didn't leave for good, called the police. I wouldn't be above using force to get him out, and most of the people are like that as well. MC was, and still is, incredibly selfless to let Nagisa stay.
