I was thinking the same thing. Like everyone was like aww he is cute and here I thought that I'm the only one who think that he was a bad parent. Isn't it kinda too late for him to make it up for her?! Like she is of a marriage age already. She will leave the house soon, like dude if you want to be a doting father do it while she was young and need parental supervision the most, not when she is a grown ass women who had already gave up on getting love from you. Also I think his neglect was probably explain her personality and her crave for love from that shithole and her tragic end.

as people have speculated: he just doesn't know how to handle girls so his son was easier.
And since she saw(thought) he didn't care for her, she just never approached him so their relationship just stayed bad.
so i'm guessing this is the first time his daughter wanted to have a talk with him so he's trying to appeal to what a daughter would like.

what kind of awkward shit is this? if that is the case then his wife probably approached him first since his awkwardness can be perceived negatively as coldness

True, I do agree that he is an awkward person which is obvious from how he was portray. It's kinda sad to think that for more than 16 years or so he's never tried to approach his daughter or try to take the initiative to be her FATHER. This is just sad, she had to live her childhood without a father figure and having to hate her father. That's explain why she wanted love so much. This is just sad. Like even the person who reincarnated into her think that her father would kill her at any moment. Like dude that is terrifying to even imagine. The original MC believed that she lived with someone who would kill her if she say something wrong to him and that is her father. Since this is comedy the author made it like it's just a fun joke of a an awkward father and his daughter. But in serious case I see it as a neglect father and a daughter who misunderstand her father bc he has never been a fucking father to her so she know no shit about his true intentions.

I think the problem is that they both have a resting bitch face, so it doesn't work for either of them. The dad looks unapproving naturally, but inside he was trying to do something. Except he doesn't know how to handle girls.

The MC also has a RBF, so when she reacts to what he does, he also misunderstands and thinks he screwed up somewhere.

I think all this time, they've been reading eachother wrong, becauee neither of them realize they have resting bitch faces, and have consequently thought the other's reaction to them is always negative. Even if deep down, they actually feel differently. As shown by MC's smile (which had the coachman thinking she's gonna kill him), that might have been what the MC thought whenever her father smiled at her.

Even so she made it seem like he just outright ignored her (we may find out that wasn't true idk) but as of right now and as far as we know he's a shit dad ( ̄へ ̄)

The thing is im sure (i could be wrong) as a little girl she probably went after him as kids do and tried to hug him and get his love because that's what kids do but he just ignored her and spent all his time with her brother like if he did that cause he was awkward im gonna fight him. He better have a good reason why he made her feel like he hated her

But still, for a family to be misunderstood for this long shown that neither of them try to fix their relationship especially the dad. As a father he should at the very least take some initiative to communicate with his daughter, but for 16 years or so, he did not even try that's just out right neglect. His daughter is already broke that's probably one of the reason why she died and had such a shitting personality before the MC become her.
