Maybe they're not talking about the relationship between the couple, but the relationship between the couple and everyone else around them, their friends, family and other coworkers... I think the bartender meant the risks are different for a same-sex couple of coworkers, so that's why they're not putting any labels yet.
Yeah that's probably the case, though I do wish they would've phrased it another way, but I do get what you mean
queer relationships aren't really that different from straight ones though? So I don't see why it's any different in terms of understanding ?
