I agree that he suffered long ago but it’s not his right to do what he did to River and he is selfish person in my opinion and he could something else to get his lover than what he did to river.
I recognize that his past is really sad but it doesn't mean it's okay to do all the things he done. ╥﹏╥
Honestly I am so confused over my feelings about this manga. I should hate Khaol but I dont, because he has as well suffered for more than a thousand years. I know he was starting to care about River in his heart, but the guilt and the trauma of his last love has created an obsession of just wanting to have his last love. You can see in his eyes that he does have regret over what he did to River, he has such a dark expression now even with Kaveri being there. He is a p.o.s for actually doing that to River but at the same time I don’t hate this character that has suffered so much. I don’t think he will end up with River since the author basically already said it, and i love Heil as well, but I honestly want Khaol to come to realize that he has to let go and end at least happy .
