I think he might have been punishing himself but part of it might be because sometimes he let himself go and forgot about the teacher(?). I might be wrong. It just felt like that to me though

Oohh this episode was hot , but do you guys think that he is punishing himself, it's like he wants to feel pain because his heart is broken? I don't think is good to sleep with someone just because you want to punish yourself and forget what that teacher bastard did?!
