It looks like someone drew a circle around the bite, hoping to carve/peel the skin out, but then noticed that the bite mark might still be noticeable cuz of how deep it was, so they just burned the area (that's y it is dark) and slashed across the area to cover it up even more. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
