We're all slowly witnessing him start to open up, just like in the latest chapter when he wanted to play it off cool as before but in the end admitted he was angry and jealous. I know that it's frustrating for us to see him holding himself back but people need to cut him some slack. People are being too mean to the point saying he treats Masato as a convenience, judging him way too early before giving him a chance to communicate and face his fears. People's ways of thinking is so scary sometimes, like they force you to do something you have a hard time accomplishing and start calling you a "pussy" if you're having trouble to do as they expect from you.
I'm glad there's someone like you who understands that Asahi needs to open up but not hating him for it because these things take time. Let's hope for the best for this couple.
I understand Asahi because I also have his kind of personality, but he still hasn't faced his doubts nor did he deny that Masato loves him way more. He couldn't even say that he loves him after that beautiful confession. I believe in his feelings towards Masato and I appreciate how human and credible he is as a character, I just wish he could face his doubts and start communicating with his lover a little bit. Masato deserves to know that he's loved just like Asahi deserves to understand that he can be happy too.
