If the seal appears on your body then you're supposed to look for your "Soul mate" and be together with them as soon as possible..When you ignore the seal/or/don't find your destined partner, the seal starts to make you sick...The longer you're alone an not with your destined person, the more severe the sickness will be until eventually becoming fatal and causing death.
