If I remember correctly, he did end up sleeping with his previous college sex friend (who's divorced now and has a kid), but he was super frustrated with the sex and didn't like it. It seemed like he was really confused because he realized he still only wanted Saya, but kept trying to deny it. It seemed like he was already falling for her (or had already fallen), but just couldn't understand and refused to understand his feelings. So Saya and him passed each other like nothing happened, with Saya feeling somewhat better/lighter and Ryo feeling pretty dark.

Geez I want to know if they end together. I dont like when a character denies his feelings, at least the FL was sincere and it’s up to the ML now. If FL has another sex friend maybe the ML will accept his feelings for real.
OMG. That’s sad yet, brilliant. IF their story really ended there, I would love it so much.
I love how the ending played. Sayo is feeling lighter because she was able to accept her feelings, convey her love to the guy who apparently rejected her. At the end of the day, she knows she did all she can. This frees her from the usual ‘shoulda, woulda, coulda’ and allows her to move on.
For the guy, it’s the complete opposite. I don’t know whether he just can’t process his emotions or he can’t accept that he has finally fallen in love... whatever it is, he ended up running away. He slept with other people to further deny his love for Sayo, only to be frustrated by the emptiness of meaningless sex.
As long as he fails to see things as they are, he’d be trapped with longing, regrets and pain... things you tend to carry for a long time.
I love this. Reality tends to hurt... but it is what it is. You just have to make do with the cards you’re dealt with.
I've read the latest chapters at facebook and it seems like there will be an airheaded third party for sayo.
Ive reread this and it seems like Kirishima was a rape victim when ge was younger (like Christian grey) that made him like that when it comes to sex. Its on ch 10 i think? But atill. It feels like there will be a long way before he'll able to finalky accept his feelings.
And I agree w/ youu. I really live how it ended. Its kinda bittersweet for me coz its realistic on that approach. And sayo was brave enough to face her feelings.

Unfortunately, she realized that she fell in love with him and confessed. It ended the game between them. It showed Kirishima grabbing on the bedsheet that Sayo used to lie on, as if he is irritated (it may be interpreted as he's confused as hell or something else). After that, he slept with another woman (who used to be one of his sex mates) and Sayo spent the day off with puffed eyes, getting a move on with her feelings. The last ch ended with them passing by each other in the workplace.
And unfortunately that was the last ch released since a year ago (as far as I know it was ch 19?) and we havent heard much from sources of ch 20 and the rest of the volume's release (especially the mangaka works on another manga). Hopefully the translator/ uploader group to this has raws to ch 20 and moree. Thank youuu so much to the team updating this!
