Actually, her mom messed up his life by lying, both her husband. She ends up raping her child, that's why he's scared and hate Yoonbum.
the mom was always mentally ill, but the father kept pushing her to get married and have a family, in the end she got pregnant. She tried to abort the baby multiple times but failed, thus Sangwoo was born ant the two got married. The moms mental health kept getting worse, she tried hard to keep herself together but would have outbursts from time to time, like when she tried to choke Sangwoo with a pillow. The father didn't submit the mom to a hospital or get her treatment for her condition instead he just tried to pretend like they were a happy family even after his son was almost killed by her (in Korea mental illness is still taboo). This stress took a toll on the father, he lost his job, gained weight and started resenting his family, especially his wife. He started abusing them and torturing her. That in turn was making her mental condition worse and worse, until one day she decided she has to get rid of the father. She started poisoning him and turning his son against him until one day she finally got her wish. After the father's death she was still very ill and as Sangwoo grew up he ended up looking more and more like him (appearance wise) so she started to belive that he was just like his father and that she needed to get rid of him too.

When she kept folding him, when she kept calling him babe, and when she tied him up in the basement :/ I mean how can you not remember ;n; that was scary. Though I don't understand why his father didn't file for divorce, file for custody and etc. He very well could have lived a happy life with Sangwoo :'(

I think it's probably when he's having sex with bum and he called him "mom" and there's a short flashback of sangwoo tied up and his mother on top of him, although it is only implied that he was raped. Remembering your mom while doing it implied that you've done it with her anyway.
SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME PLEAAAASE!! im re-reading this and in ch 52 sangwoo family seem happy and the father seems nice to them...so what happened?? why did he start beating his wife and son? and why sangwoo mom tried to kill her son?
