What made it boring was that she wasn't given any real confrontation. From the fiancee she was given harsh criticism twice and cried a little. With her mother she was berated and pushy.
If anything I can understand the fiancee being dealt with by the ML but the FL forgave her mother to quickly without her mother ever realizing just the kind of bs she's been doing to her for God knows how long.
Its actually good , but... but... harlequin without drama is just like soup without salt
