Thank you for the explanation!!! Also, very interesting that some samurai would have some kinda beloved friend/lover? I'm assuming some kind of gay affair?.
A lot of soldiers/men back then we're just gay for some reason, but history doesn't like talking abt that eventhough I'd be really interesting to know of.
Basicly it is about *class* ...samurai considered being the elite ...before the fall of the shogunate ...crafts people ...ink stone makers being the third lowest class ..it was a respected art then and is now .,,BUT ..not a rich and reknown household ....sensei broke the stone ..because he wanted the young samurai to inherit his families dojo/business/wealth/marry into money and have heirs ..
But the young samurai is pigheaded and vows to return ..to see/make/love sensei ..
Back in the shogunate period (edo 1800)
It was not strange for samurai to have a BELOVED ...brother/friend/lover...but it was anethema to mix the classes
