Ok, the duke is by no means a "victim" in this. There are ways to protect Ain other than forcing him to drink poison! Royalty used to keep around people who would drink their drinks and eat their food because of the possibility of poison being in the meals that were served to them. These people were called food testers. The fML is not dumb for not allowing this. This actually a bit of an extreme and unnecessary approach to protecting ain. This is not "tough love." Especially, when you can only be jealous of your son receiving affection from someone you previously weren't concerned with. The duke is just childish. He can't control his emotions, so he slams tabletops and scares his wife! It's not like she knew she was going to be transported into a book she only read to pass the time, damn. Of course, she'd be scared of someone who slaughters people and encourages his child to do so as well. She is not used to the gruesome ways and thinking that was required for people to survive back then! She's from the modern center so it's natural.
He can still die though from taking too much poison... Like he just almost did. What's the point of the training if he ends up dead anyway? He wasn't even concerned when he saw he took too much, so this thing about survival is junk. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
